Former Minister Robert Le Hunte calls on Opposition Leader to apologise for her “insensitivity”

Former government minister, Robert Le Hunte, has called on Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissesar to apologise for her comments, in which she compared the treatment of citizens trapped outside TT to slavery and indentureship.

At the UNC’s virtual meeting on Thursday night, Persad-Bissessar said: “You cannot abandon over 10,000 citizens of your country, you cannot do that. That is worse, I think, than slavery and indentureship.”

However, Le Hunte in a video post on Facebook, said the UNC leader showed insensitivity to our history and the people she wants to lead.
