In an open letter to the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, President of Fixin’ T&T, KIrk Waithe wrote “as T&T prepares for local and general elections, if you’re even remotely committed to effectively dealing with T&T’s “cancer of corruption” and rescuing us from this economic abyss:”
1). Bring the Regulations to Parliament, have the rest of the Procurement Legislation sent to the President for proclamation and make the Office of Procurement Regulation operational by 31st December 2019.
2). Ensure that meaningful legislation to govern Campaign Financing is effectively implemented by 31st March 2020.
Failing to do that allows for continuation of the theft and wastage historically facilitated by successive Administrations be they PNM or UNC. Your rhetoric, in other words, will remain empty.”
