The quick decision by Woodbrook residents to form a bucket brigade, stopped a fire from spreading to nearby homes in the area.
Around 12:47 am this morning, residents of De Verteuil Street detected the smell of smoke and then observed a two-story building located along the roadway on fire.
An alarm was raised and the residents quickly took action and formed a bucket brigade to contain the blaze, and notified the fire services.
Officials said damage to the building was contained to the ground floor, however, the total value of the damages is yet to be ascertained.
