A 54-year-old woman, identified as Surajdeo Durant, was killed in a road accident on Wednesday night.
Reports state that Durant, from Southbank Road, Caroni, was hit by a white Nissan X-trail in the vicinity of the KVS Supermarket, while attempting to cross the road.
Thankfully, the driver of the vehicle, who is from St Helena, stopped and took Durant to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for treatment.
However, she succumbed to her injuries early this morning.
