An unfortunate accident has claimed the life of Penal father of two, Premnath Ramlogan.
The 57-year-old taxi driver was electrocuted on Wednesday afternoon, while gathering bamboo to plant a jhandi in observance of the Hindu festival Chaitra Navratri, which began last Tuesday and ends today.
Around 3pm, Ramlogan was cutting bamboo near SS Erin Road, Penal and was trying to carry the piece of bamboo back to his Charlo Village home, when it accidentally touched a high-tension electricity line.
He was immediately electrocuted.
