Family seeking help after Vistabella home partially destroyed by fire

A family of four is now seeking assistance, after their Vistabella home was partially damaged by fire last night.

Reports state that the fire started shortly after 11 pm, at an abandoned property next to their home at North Road and spread onto the rented home of 53-year-old Keith Manick.

Manick, his wife Gladys Cupid-Manick, 48, along with their four-year-old daughter and stepdaughter Kimberly Premchand, 26, ran out of their home after their roof caught afire.

Firefighters quickly responded and were able to extinguish the flames before it could spread to the entire house.

The child’s school supplies as well as the family’s appliances were damaged.

They have appealed to San Fernando West MP Faris Al-Rawi to assist them in securing public housing, even if it is on a temporary basis.

Anyone willing to assist the family can contact 297-3549.
