Energy Chamber says no Government input in their nomination for appointment to the investigative

The Energy Chamber of Trinidad & Tobago says it has noted the statement from the Leader of the Opposition concerning the Energy Chamber’s representative on the Investigation Committee established to investigate the incident in Paria Fuel Trading Company, Mr Eugene Tiah.
Via a media release it stated that the Chamber was asked to nominate a representative to this important Committee by the Government, and it chose Mr Eugene Tiah as the most suitable person.
The Energy Chamber has maintained that it had absolutely no discussion with the Minister of Energy and Energy Industry on this nomination and simply informed the Minister of its selected representative.
The Energy Chamber expressed full confidence in Mr Eugene Tiah, describing the past Chairman of the Energy Chamber as a highly respected executive from the energy sector, with a very strong reputation for safety leadership.
