Eight persons were arrested and two illegal firearms were seized by officers of the Southern Division, during a Divisional Firearm Interdiction and Narcotics Eradication exercise.
The exercise was conducted between 2.00 pm on 10th October and 2 am on 11th October, 2022, by utilizing the Grid Patrol System.
The eight suspects were arrested for various offences, ranging from possession of firearm and ammunition to possession of marijuana, and robbery-related enquiries.
Officers of the Southern Division also seized two firearms which included one pistol, one pump action shot-gun, a quantity of ammunition, and a quantity of marijuana.
The suspects are from Marabella, Golconda, Siparia, Pleasantville, Princes Town, and Embacadere and range between 18 and 33 years of age.
Investigations are continuing.
