Doctor in racist voice message to meet Medical Board’s Dec. 1 deadline and submit responses

Today is Deadline Day for Dr. Avinash Sawh, the doctor who found himself in hot water for spewing racial remarks during a viral telephone call to his then employee.

Sawh, who is facing possible disciplinary action, was mandated by the TT Medical Board to submit responses to five complaints made against him.
The deadline given for submission of responses is today, December 1st.

Sawh’s attorney Martin George, confirmed to media that he will submit responses today.

The Medical Board initially condemned Sawh’s actions, saying these actions can be potentially construed as infamous and disgraceful conduct on the part of a doctor as defined in the Medical Board act.

As such the Board decided to follow due process and an investigation into Sawh’s alleged behaviour was initiated.
