The mother of the 15 year-old girl who died at hospital after being beaten by a close male relative says she has no idea how to process her daughter’s death.
Speaking to reporters at a relative’s Chaguanas home on Wednesday, the mother was inconsolable as she recounted the events leading up to her child’s death.
The 15 year old girl was beaten by a close male relative, and fell down some stairs and subsequently dies.
She said she took the child to be disciplined by the father due to teenage boyfriend problems.
She said after about half hour to forty – five minutes she said the girl’s male relative came outside to discuss punishment like banning cell phone use while still allowing a Tobago vacation planned for the Easter weekend.
However, when he returned inside he called out to the mother loudly that something was wrong.
After administering CPR they rushed her to the hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
She said the man had no history of beating the child.
