An investigation has been raised into the death of electrical engineer Rossie Mansingh, who succumbed to injuries sustained from an explosion while on the job.
According to reports, Mansingh, 39, of Premier Crescent in Fyzabad, was with a group of workers at the Point Lisas Industrial Estate in Couva on January 18, conducting maintenance work on a generator, around 10:30 am, when an explosion occurred.
Mansingh and the other workers were all injured and taken to the Couva Health Facility for treatment.
However, Mansingh suffered severe burns to his upper body.
He was transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries around 7pm on Monday night.
A post-mortem has since been ordered.
