One health official, in the frontlines of the fight against Covid-19 pandemic locally, admits deaths from the virus are negatively affecting the mental health of personnel in the profession.
The concern was highlighted by Consultant of the Covid Team, Internal Medicine Department, Couva Hospital and Multi-training Facility, Dr Peggy-Ann Burgess.
Speaking at the Ministry of Health virtual news briefing on Monday, Dr Burgess said the situation is taking its toll on the mental frame of mind of health employees.
Dr Burgess also cited the need for people to be properly informed with respect to the use of the Covid-19 vaccination and not be misdirected by information from unreliable sources.
