A suspected bandit, who allegedly attempted to break into KFC’s branch in Siparia was caught hiding in the ceiling on Thursday 15th February, 2014.
Around 1:45am, officers received a call from the restaurant manager about a man on the premises along High Street, Siparia.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they observed an open door to the air conditioning room outside of the establishment.
The store’s manager was then contacted to open the building where they proceeded into the office and discovered the security camera system had been disabled and the safe tampered with.
Nothing appeared to be missing from the safe, but several hand and power tools were seen nearby.
The officers subsequently searched the premises and found the suspect hiding in the ceiling.
He was arrested and taken to the Siparia Criminal Investigations Department office along with the seized tools for further questioning.
Police are continuing enquiries.
