A claim is coming from San Juan/Barataria Member of Parliament, Saddam Hosein, people’s rights to demonstrate could be interfered with due to the extension of the State of Emergency.
Speaking during Wednesday’s motion “Extend the State of Emergency for Three Months”, MP Hosein reflected on a situation outside the parliament when some citizens took part in what he described as a peaceful demonstration.
However, MP Hosein claimed the demonstration ended in some citizens getting tickets from the police and asked to disburse.
