Chief Sec looking forward to a more reliable service from T&TEC

Chief Secretary Ancil K. Dennis and Secretary of Settlements, Urban Renewal and Public Utilities, Assemblyman Clarence Jacob, visited T&TEC’s Cove Power Plant on Thursday, 26th November, 2020 to get a better understanding of the plant’s operations and possible reasons for the outages being experienced across the island.

The team was given a tour of the facility by Plant Manager, Mr. Emile Baptiste. They visited the main areas- the Control Room and the Engine Hall. Chief Secretary Dennis was informed that while some of the outages stem from the Cove Power Plant, others occur from different areas and for various reasons.

Following the tour, Chief Secretary Dennis said he now has a deeper understanding and appreciation for the work being done at Cove.

He said T&TEC’s service to Tobago is a very important one and commended the workers for their dedication to the job. However, he stressed that the frequent power outages across Tobago are untenable.

The Chief Secretary is looking forward to a more reliable service from T&TEC in short order.
