Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a 60-year-old man in Chaguanas on Wednesday evening.
The victim told police that he was seated in his Nissan X-Trail around 5:45pm, having just pulled into the driveway of his home along Matna Drive, when he was confronted by a man with a firearm.
The armed suspect opened fire on the man and then escaped.
The man’s left arm was hit.
He notified the police and paramedics and was taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility.
PC Boysielal, the responding officer, found four spent .40mm shells at the scene.
