Carter sets new national record in Italy

It was a very happy Republic Day holiday for fans of swimming across the country, as TT’s own, Dylan Carter, set a new national record in the International Swimming League (ISL) in Napoli, Italy, on Friday.

Carter, swimming for the team London Road, competed in the men’s 50-metre butterfly final, and finished third in a time of 22.36 seconds to lower his own national record and capture Bronze.

Ben Proud of Energy Standard captured gold in 22.26 and Marius Kusch of Toronto Titans took silver in 22.32.

Carter had previously recorded a national time of 22.38 seconds in the 50m butterfly.
