CARPHA shares Monkeypox concerns; tells Region brace for Covid spike

The Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) is urging all Caribbean Nationals to closely monitor the Monkeypox virus.
In an interview with CARPHA’s Communication Manager Carlon Kirton following the World Health Organisation’s recent declaration of Mokeypox as a public health emergency of international concern, Dr Joy St John expressed concern that infected persons have been presenting with new symptoms.

She is also advising citizens not to drop their guard in light of two new highly contagious Covid variants.
She says she expects that the presence of the variants will lead to Covid spikes across the Region.
