Burnt remains found; believed to missing Maraval woman

Police are trying to confirm the identity of the charred human remains, which were found in a latrine in Maraval on Thursday afternoon.

However, they do suspect it may be that of missing 20-year-old Anastacia Waldron.

Officers went to the woman’s address at Clovis Trace, Morne Coco Road, Maraval around 3.45 pm and on arrival, saw smoke coming from the galvanise outhouse which was located ten feet from the home – and following checks, they discovered the burnt remains.

The District Medical Officer visited the scene and ordered the removal of the remains to the Forensic Science Centre, St James.

Waldron, a customer service representative with the KFC branch in Maraval – was reported missing by a relative around 3.30 pm on July 27.

She was last seen leaving work dressed in the red monogrammed KFC t-shirt and black pants.
