Both Paria and LMCS to blame for divers’ death says former AG

Both LMCS and Paria are responsible for the death of the divers in the Paria Diving Tragedy.

So says the Counsel to the Commission of Inquiry into the incident, former Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence-Maharaj SC.

Speaking with Power 102 Digital, Mr Lawrence-Maharaj gave some insight into the matter from his perspective.

He added that he believed the public would be proud of the work the Commission has done and that the report would accurately reflect the evidence.

However he warned that there are limits to the Commission’s abilities, such as saying who, if anyone, should face charges arising out of the incident.

The report of the Commission should be done and submitted to the President in coming weeks.

Mr Lawrence-Maharaj told Power 102 Digital that the Commissioners are hard at work and intend to submit it by the end of April.
