Barataria man gets bail for sexual penetration of a minor

A 31-year-old Barataria man was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 by a Tunapuna Magistrate, when he appeared in court charged with sexual penetration of a minor.

The accused was charged with the offence when he appeared before Magistrate Indra Ramoo Haynes, in the Tunapuna Magistrates’ Court, on Monday 12th September, 2022.

The matter was adjourned to October 10th, 2022.

The accused was arrested on September 9th, 2022, following a report made to the police about an alleged sexual encounter he had with a female minor between the period October 5th, 2021 and October 16th, 2021.

Investigations were supervised by W/Supt. Guy-Alleyne, W/ASP Persad, ASP Seecharan and Sgts. Bishop and Mohammed all of the Child Protection Unit (CPU).

The accused was charged with the offence by WPC Stephens of the Northern Division’s CPU on Saturday 10th September, 2022.
