Bandits make off with over $80k in cash and goods from hardware in Tobago

Approximately $90,000 worth of cash and product were stolen from Belfon’s Hardware Limited in Carnbee, Mt Pleasant, Tobago on Friday.

The store workers discovered the theft when they opened the store on Friday morning and witnessed that several areas of the hardware were ransacked.

Reports say the missing items included cash, two Makita hammer drills valued at $11,000 each, four industrial mop buckets each worth $1,100, one Espec gas generator valued at $6,270, and four Arrow toilet sets priced at $2,150 each.

The bandits also took three Shaiwana weed wackers valued at $5,879 each, four complete hoes priced at $200 each, eight $360 pickaxes, eight Total grinders valued at $565 each, and six $600 Truper palm sanders.

The cash register was also emptied of about $18,800.

In total, $89, 507 in items and money was stolen.

The Shirvan police are still investigating.
