Autopsy ordered after 2-month girl found unresponsive in Santa Cruz

A two-month-old baby girl was found unconscious at her Santa Cruz home on Monday.

Police are now awaiting the outcome of an autopsy to confirm cause of death.

Reports state that little Azoura Roberts was asleep in her bed at home in Beverly Heights Extension in Santa Cruz around 10am yesterday.

A 33-year-old man who was looking after her, said after putting her down for her nap, he also went to sleep.

Later, at around 1 pm that day, he checked on the child and found her unresponsive on the bed.

There was liquid about her face.

The child was then taken to the Wendy Fitzwilliam’s Children’s Hospital Emergency Department where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Authorities said a post-mortem was ordered and is expected to be done today.
