Arouca police are conducting investigations on just what led to the severe wounding of a 45-year-old man who was found crawling in a Lopinot precipice on Monday night.
According to the police the man was found with blood covering his face, crawling out of a precipice in La Pastora, on Monday night.
A passer-by saw the wounded man and took him to hospital where he was treated and was found to be suffering from severe brain damage which led to memory loss.
Officers of the Arouca CID were called in on Wednesday afternoon and tried to interview the man but were unable to glean much information due to the severity of his condition.
While further details surrounding the man’s wounds are unclear, investigators suspect the injuries were not consistent with a fall.
