More Sinopharm vaccines are set to arrive in T&T come next Thursday.
Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley made the announcement during his weekly press conference at the Diplomatic Centre on Saturday.
He said this time around, there will be more than the 100,000 Sinopharm doses received previously from China, while vaccines via the African Medical Supplies Platform could arrive in August.
Rowley said those vaccines from the African Platform would consist of 800,000 Johnson & Johnson shots, as this was the main type ordered.
Given that Johnson & Johnson is a one dose vaccine, Dr Rowley believes this bodes well for T&T’s vaccination drive.
Meanwhile, From Wednesday 9th June 2021, there will be a walk-in process for first-dose Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines for persons in two specific groups.
