Tourism: Greater Push Needed To Position Tobago Ahead Of Competition

There is need for greater push to position Tobago’s tourism product and services at the forefront, especially in light of competition from both within and outside of the Caribbean.

General Manager at Bacolet Beach Club, Gloria Jones-Knapp, expressed this sentiment while speaking with local reporters at the International Travel and Trade Show being held in Germany.

Ms Jones Knapp said having a presence in major events of this nature is important and entering into new negotiations with the Tobago House of Assembly especially for more direct flights to the destination.

She said Tobago because of its location has to make a bigger effort as at present the island received only two flights a week from international destinations while there are other countries in the region which have as much as eight flights for the week.
