Ameen wants PM to apologise for saying the UNC “has a habit of sabotaging TT”

St. Augustine MP, Khadijah Ameen, is condemning Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley for claiming that the opposition United National Congress ‘has a habit of sabotaging Trinidad and Tobago when they are not in office’.

MP Ameen stated that this was a desperate attempt by the PM to demonize the UNC, and that his statements are reckless and uncalled for.

In a statement, MP Ameen called the Prime Minister’s accusation that UNC sabotaged an irrigation pump at Bamboo Settlement as senseless as it was under a UNC government that these new pumps were installed and it would be senseless that the party would seek to destroy its own work that was done when in government.

She expressed concern that this accusation from a Prime Minister may stymie the authorities from finding the perpetrators of this dastardly act. She called on the PM to apologize for his baseless blaming and to stop spreading hate and enmity among the people of Trinidad and Tobago.

In closing she called on Police to investigate with urgency this arson attack on the irrigation pump at Bamboo Settlement, to bring some closure and clarity to this issue and for the Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan to ensure the vandalized pump is speedily replaced
