Airports Authority gives positive outlook after Covid

The Airport Authority of Trinidad and Tobago plans to build on the positives achieved especially coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Piarco International Airport has been ranked by Sky Tracks as the best in the region for three consecutive years.

In 2018 the world economic forum placed Piarco International Airport as second in Latin America and the Caribbean region in terms of airport infrastructure.

Deputy Chairman of the institution, James Philbert, made the disclosure while speaking during a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee this morning.

The PAC will examine the Audited Financial Statements of the AATT for the financial years 2013 to 2019 and follow-up on the implementation of the recommendations in the Committee’s Eighteenth Report, 11th Parliament.

Philbert said during the covid-19 pandemic the Authority lost more than ninety-five percent of its revenue but there are encouraging signs moving forward.
