T&TEC warns: Be careful around flood waters and electrical outlets!

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising persons who have experienced flooding in their homes to exercise extreme caution when walking/ standing in flood waters as they could be at risk for shock or electrocution.

T&TEC says that electrical outlets or connections that have been breached by water should be turned off.

This can be done by turning off the breaker switch for that individual outlet.

The Authority says failure to do this could result in shock or electrocution, as water is a conductor for electricity.
