Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has announced that from mid-January, government workplaces will require vaccinated workers.
Speaking at Saturday’s media conference at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, the PM said: “It is the intention of the government, come mid-January, to insist that the government workplace would require vaccinated workers.”
Those unvaccinated will be placed on leave and will be furloughed.
However, he said there will be exemptions for those with medical issues,
The prime minister also announced that the Public Service, except those in essential services, will be shut down from December 24 to January 2.
He urged employees to use the period to get vaccinated.
Rowley also announced the reopening of beaches from Monday 20th, December.
However, a time restriction has been implemented from 5:00 am to 12:00 pm and no drinking or partying will be allowed.
