Medical experts warn of spike in Covid among family members

Manager in the Ministry of Health’s Epidemiology Division, Dr. Roshan Seeramsingh is warning there are signs of a hike in COVID-19 cases among family members.

He said this development is one of serious concern especially during this festive period.

The public is once again being advised to adhere to the pandemic rules over the holidays to ensure that there is no spike in the Covid infections for the new year.

Thoracic Medical Director at the Caura Hospital Dr Michelle Trotman issued the warning during the Covid update yesterday by the Ministry of Health.

She said that persons should be aware of getting too close to family members even in their own households during the holidays since this can lead to increased infections.
