$45 Million Spent On Vacation Period School Upgrades, Reveals Education Minister

Forty-five million dollars has been spent by the government to carry out repairs on schools during the July/August holiday.

Infrastructure work took place on 147 projects.

However, eight of the schools remain closed.

On Monday schools reopened.

Five of the schools which were not identified will reopen for classes next week to facilitate on-going infrastructure work.

Three of the schools have been affected by sewer and other problems.

Minister of Education , Dr Nyan Gadsby Dolly , provided the information while speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing held Thursday afternoon at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s.
