19-year-old bandit held, 3 others on the run after home invasion thwarted in Carapichaima

One of four bandits was apprehended by police this morning, after the owner noticed them lurking outside her home on her security cameras.

The incident took place in Carapichaima.

The homeowner told police she was awake around 2.40 am when she noticed four bandits on the front step of her Waterloo Road home.

She called for help, waking another neighbour who triggered his security alarm.

Officers from the Central Division Task Force quickly responded and on arrival, one of the bandits dropped a bolt cutter and jumped over a nearby gate.

However, that bandit was arrested by police, but his accomplices got into a red Toyota Yaris and sped off.

An all-points bulletin (APB) was issued for the bandits’ getaway car, but it was not found.

The 19-year-old suspect who is from east Port of Spain is expected to be questioned and charged.
