Young claps back at the Opposition Leader – unfazed by recent political attacks

Minister of National Security, Stuart Young in response to the Opposition Leader, Mrs. Kamla Persad-Bissessar said he is sadden by her “struggle for relevance”.
In a media release issued by the Minister this afternoon, he said “as an individual who once held the post of Prime Minister of this country, it saddens me to see Mrs Kamla Persad Bissessar now struggle for relevance”.
Minister Young went on to say that the Opposition Leader is no longer seen as relevant by persons outside of the “political gayelle”.
“It is downright shameful that a Senior Counsel is not seized of the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.”
Minister Young said the country’s borders were “legally closed since March 2020 based on the advice of our public health experts.”
This measure he added was a “pillar of the public’s protection in the face of a global pandemic (COVID-19). The closure of the borders is legal and done in accordance with our laws.”
“It is noted how much time and energy the opposition spends focused on me.”
Minister Young said the Opposition has “resorted to lies and misinformation” and chose to file a motion of no confidence against him in an effort to attack him; this move he says is “part of their continued misconceived and desperate plan.”
“Civic minded and right thinking Citizens will question why so much continued focus on me by Mrs Persad Bissessar and the UNC and come to their own conclusions,” said Minister Young.
