A call has been made for issues affecting teachers to be treated with a greater level of urgency.
The appeal came on the observance of World Teachers Day, on Wednesday.
President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association, Antonia De Freitas, cited salary negotiations, the need for more meaningful consultations and a turnaround in unsafe teaching and learning conditions, among the issues.
However, Ms De Freitas recognised the contribution of teachers and said they stand ready to be part of a process which seeks to empower them.
