Works Minister says fraudulent cheque for Toco Port construction did not come from his Ministry

Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan, says a purported fraudulent cheque for construction works at the Toco Port project did not originate from the ministry or any of the agencies under its purview.

Minister Sinanan says the police continue their probe into this matter. The Works and Transport Minister was at the time responding to a question from Opposition Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial in the Senate this afternoon.

Senator Lutchmedial wanted to find out in light of reports of a fraudulent Government cheque for construction works at the Toco Port
project was accepted as genuine by a commercial bank in Diego Martin, what measures are being taken by the Government to prevent a recurrence?
