Women, 2 men ambushed and injured in Curepe

49 spent shells were found at the scene of a shooting in Curepe last night, which left a woman and two men were nursing injuries.

Reports state that a 31-year-old Arouca man was sitting in the driver’s seat of his red Nissan Tiida with another 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman on McInroy Street, at around 9 pm when a silver Nissan X-Trail drove in front of their car.

Three gunmen, wearing dark clothing got out of the X-Trail and shot at the car, wounding the three people inside.

The man then drove to hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his stomach and is warded in critical condition.

The 25-year-old man was shot in his leg, while the woman was also shot in her left leg.

The car which was riddled with bullets was towed to the St Joseph police station where further enquiries will be done.
