Woman among 3 held with firearm, ammo and drugs in West Trinidad

Three persons were arrested and a firearm and quantities of narcotics seized by officers of the Western Division during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Diego Martin and St. James yesterday morning.

The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Kelvern Thompson and supervised by Sgt. (Ag.) Carmona, included officers of the Western Division Task Force and the Canine Unit and was conducted between 2am and 8am, on Thursday 4th February.

During the exercise, officers proceeded to the St. Lucien Road, Diego Martin home of a male suspect, where they conducted a search which resulted in quantities of cocaine and marijuana being discovered. The man was arrested in connection with the find.

Officers then proceeded to the Main Street, St. James, where they executed a search warrant which resulted in one pistol fitted with a magazine loaded with ten rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana being discovered.

A man and woman who were in the house at the time of the exercise were arrested in connection with the finds.
Investigations are ongoing.
