A Venezuelan national is dead after he was knocked down along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway during the early hours of this morning.
The man has been identified as 27-year-old Jose Gregorio Tenia Garcia.
Reports say the driver of a white Nissan B15 was proceeding east along the Highway and upon reaching the vicinity of El Socorro Road, the driver came into contact with a man who was attempting to ride north to south on a bicycle.
The driver of the car, a 30-year-old from Laventille, pulled the vehicle aside and immediately notified the police and emergency health services.
Investigations are underway.
