The body of the woman which was found in Carenage on Saturday morning, has been identified as that of Leean Slater.
The 35-year-old woman was found lying face down on L’Anse Mitan Road, Carenage.
Police said residents of L’Anse Mitan heard noises outside their home at around 7.20 am.
One woman checked outside shortly after and saw the body of Slater.
Carenage police visited the area with a district medical officer who declared Slater dead.
Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I are continuing enquiries.
