UNC slams PM’s use of AG in Farley fiasco; tells him seek advice from his personal attorney

The Opposition has condemned Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley for seeking legal advice from Attorney General Reginald Armour.

On Thursday, during a post-Cabinet news conference, the Prime Minister said he was seeking legal advice on matters raised at the special THA sitting, in which some serious allegations were levied against by by Chief Secretary Farley Augustine.

The PM said that in his personal capacity, he will leave no stone unturned to clear his name.

But yesterday, UNC’s Dinesh Rambally said this was not a matter for the AG at all.

“The Attorney General should not be going down that wild goose chase and even entertaining such a stupid, ridiculous instruction from the Prime Minister. The Attorney General should get down to doing some serious work,” Rambally advised.

“If Dr Rowley feels that he has somehow been defamed, and as I said I don’t agree with that, he should instruct his own personal lawyer.”
