The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres will address the 45th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, which convenes in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, from 3 to 5 July 2023.
While in Port of Spain, the Secretary-General will also meet with Prime Minister Keith Rowley and other leaders on the margins of the Meeting.
In his address to the Opening Ceremony on Monday, the Secretary-General will underscore that the world needs to match the leadership, energy, and commitment of Caribbean countries on issues such as the restructuring of the international financial system and the climate crisis.
He will also reiterate the United Nations’ commitment to call for more ambitious action in these two areas.
