TTUTA Calls For Probe Into Email Threat At Barrackpore Secondary School

The teacher’s union is condemning an email threat sent to the Barrackpore East Secondary School.

TTUTA president Martin Lum Kin confirmed that emails threatening to shoot and kill students and educators at the school either today or tomorrow were sent to the school’s official email address and two teachers of the school.

Lum Kin said the Ministry of Education decided against closing the school, however several teachers and students stayed away from classes today.

The union wants a probe to be done into the incident and said those responsible for sending the threat to the school’s official email should be brought to justice.

In a voice note, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association, Martin Lum Kin, appealed for a full scale investigation into the threat.
