The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is advising citizens to be cautious of false information sent via social media, which they say can cause unnecessary panic and anxiety.
According to a release issued yesterday afternoon, information was posted to the TTPS App earlier this week and the events described therein are not currently taking place in Port of Spain. Persons are advised to desist from sharing the screenshot of the information from the TTPS App to reduce the risk of undue panic.
There are currently no protests taking place in Port of Spain and environs.
The TTPS is advising members of the public to check the TTPS Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for accurate information on matters relating to crime and policing.
