TTPS: Measures taken to crack down on the progress of criminal gangs in T&T

Several measures have been taken to crack down on the progress of criminal gangs in Trinidad and Tobago.

This point is cited by Assistant Superintendent, Northern Division, North of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Ishmael Pitt.

He said the TTPS has been proactive, shared information and closely monitored gang activity.

He was at the time speaking at a Public Meeting of the Joint Select Committee on National Security this week.

It was held to gain an understanding of the anti-crime strategies implemented and being implemented to address criminal activity in Trinidad and Tobago.

Pitt said there are positives which have been derived from a more collaborative approach to ensure when persons are prosecuted it can stand scrutiny.
