Criminologist Darius Figuiera told News Power Now that policing agencies throughout the world must have structures in place to ensure its integrity.
Noting that this is one such measure, he cited its importance given T&T’s strategic location in the international drug trade which leaves officers open to temptation.
Mr Figuiera pointed out that this measure should have been implemented decades ago.
He also urged politicians to implement this measure alongside upgrades to the justice system.
