UPDATE: T&TEC Corporate Communications Manager, Annabelle Brasnell confirmed to Izzso Media on Wednesday, that restoration works were completed within the timeline previously indicated. Electricity was restored to all affected customers before 1pm.
The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) says that due to a problem at one of the country’s power plants, a number of customers in various locations across the country were left without an electricity supply.
The problem occurred at approximately 11.30 a.m.
In a media release, T&TEC said its engineers are working closely with the Independent Power Producer to resolve the problem. The supply was expected to be restored by 1:00 PM today.
T&TEC said at this point the cause of the problem is not known.
