T&T under Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level)

Trinidad and Tobago is now under an Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level), going into effect for the country at 9:00 AM Saturday.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service said:
“There is a high (80%) chance of thunderstorm activity today over Trinidad and Tobago due to the passage of a low-level trough [a tropical wave] encountering favourable conditions for thunderstorm development.”

The alert, which remains in effect until 6:30 PM today for both islands, also warns of stronger winds. The Met Office explained:
