Investigations are ongoing after twenty-seven undocumented foreign nationals comprising: sixteen adult males, eight adult females, and three male minors were intercepted by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard in an unknown vessel suspected of crossing the international maritime border.
The incident took place on Wednesday at approximately 9:43 am when the vessel was first observed on the South coast of Trinidad.
A pursuit ensued and the vessel made an attempt to avoid interception through the use of evasive maneuvers.
The persons and the vessel were taken in tow and escorted to the TTCG’s Headquarters in Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas.
The Immigration Division and Trinidad and Tobago Police Service were informed.
