Trinidad and Tobago recorded 576 murders in 2023. This is down from 605 in 2022. The update is contained in the News Year’s message of Police Commissioner, Erla Harewood Christopher. It is a 5% decline in murders. However, the Commissioner is not satisfied with that drop.
She promised the TTPS would not be complacent with the “limited progress” and promised to develop more innovative strategies in 2024.
